A very unique coral necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This interesting piece is made of natural undyed coral, and is comprised of a strand of hand-carved beads that meet at a tassel in the center. The vibrant colored beads have an interesting and chunky pebble-like design, which is commonly seen in Victorian era carved coral beads. Interspersed throughout the strand are several faceted coral beads. The tassel is formed by five beaded coral strands that have been curved into loops and dangle from a gold-filled cap. The entire piece is hand strung on wire and fastens in the back at a sterling push clasp. This wonderful Victorian necklace highlights the beauty of natural coral and would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
